Construction Zone - The preperation for the Slab

This is our backyard (for those of you who haven't seen it). We are adding onto our house 30 ft x 50 ft. It will include our master bedroom suite, a kids room with a jack and jill bathroom, another spare bedroom, and my craft room. Here is Bob (one of Corey's co-workers and friends) driving the tractor (from a construction site of his buddies) to dig down 2 feet of dirt for the slab. We have to dig down 2 feet and remove all of that dirt for the entire space the the house will be over. Then they have to wet and relay the dirt back over the same area, but using a roller to compress the dirt.
Here Corey has put me to work, keep in mind that this is in the middle of July, when it is the hottest in Las Vegas. It was probably around 110 degrees while we were all doing this work. This is the compressing machine, however this one didn't work very well, and latter we had to use a different machine.

After the dirt is properly laid and compressed, they had to place 2" of rock over the dirt and also compress that. All of this has to happen before we can put concrete down.
This is the front of the house and we are pushing the living room out by 10 feet. Currently, the living room is very cramped, so hopefully this will help.
