Madison's First Rodeo

Here is Daddy, in the trailer, and he just finished dressing Madison. Since we are at a rodeo in Alamo, NV. (about 100 miles North East of Vegas) she wore her John Deere boots for the first time (thanks to Aunt Leah and Uncle Raymon). Corey did a fab job dressing her, per my instructions... :o)
Here is "Uncle" Hank (our friends and neighbors) holding her. We took all of our trailers and made a little fort for us all to hang out at. It was a lot of fun and Madison did really well.

Madison and Corey trying to take a nap on the couch in our trailer. It was real warm up there. About 90 outside and no real shade. Therefore, we took refuge in the air conditioned trailer for her.

She's watching the rodeo intently. Can't you tell.

On Sunday, after the rodeo and we all picked up, we went to a nearby creek that is fed by a hot water spring. It was the coolest thing ever. I wished we had something like that at home. The water was clear and warm. The only thing I didn't really like was that it had these small fish that would come around your toes and suck on them. It creeped me out.

Construction Zone - It's coming along...

Here is the house getting papered for lathe. It took these two men four days to cover the house and wire it. It was a lot of work, and we are thankful that Corey didn't have to do it.
While Bob and Jan were here, we were able to take down the temp. wall, that was in our living room since November, and see the room we've been waiting for. What a difference. That room was like a dungeon. I was going stir crazy with having company over, dealing with Madison, and the mess of the entire house. It is truely stressful living in a construction zone. Now that the wall is down, the natural light that floods the room makes is more livable.

Finally, here is the stucco guy putting up the stucco. It was funny, because here it is, practically summer, and it rains for three days. The first day he was to start the stucco it was too windy, then it rained. Some of the cement fell off the house because of the rain. Figures, it would rain when we needed it not to.

Bob and Jan's Visit

Bob and Jan arrived to Las Vegas on May 16th. Madison was two weeks and 3 days old. I cannot tell you how crazy it is that she is growing so fast. Her weight from the hospital was 7 lbs 6 oz and two weeks later she was 9 lbs. Two weeks later from that she was 10 lbs 6 oz. I have already put a container together for cloths she can't wear.

Anyhoo, here is Grandpa Bob holding her for the first time that day. It was really cool to see them go crazy over her. It wasn't even the initial meeting that had them captivated. They were in aww the entire time they were there.

Grandma Jan was a big help that week. She would take her after a feeding and calm her to sleep. That was nice, since it gets tiring being the only one to hold her (while Corey was working on the house).

This baby needs to burp alot, and it isn't because of a bottle. She just gulps a lot of air sometimes when she feeds. That makes a lot of work for the burper.
